BIO

Born in 1979 in a family of musicians, Matthieu MILLISCHER began his musical studies at the conservatory of Toulouse. He obtained a piano gold medal in 1996 as well as numerous other prizes (musical training, chamber music, analysis and harmony). He completed his piano studies with Laurent Cabasso and began studying musicology at the University of Toulouse Le Mirail.

He continued his musical studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris where he was taught by many musical personalities such as Thierry Escaich, Alain Louvier, Michèle Reverdy, Bernard de Crépy, Jean-Claude Raynaud or Brigitte François-Sappey. He graduated with great honors in musical writing, analysis, orchestration and musical culture. He also studied orchestration with Olivier Kaspar at the conservatory of Saint-Maur des Fossés and attended the accompaniment class of Christine Rouault-Louchard at the Jean-Philippe Rameau Municipal Conservatory (Paris VI). In 2004, he obtained a DEA (Master 2) in Musicology from the University of Paris IV-La Sorbonne under the direction of Danièle Pistone.

A curious and eclectic musician, constantly discovering new repertories, he regularly performs in various ensembles: piano concerts, melody and lieder recitals, chamber music concerts, concerts with the duet Perpetuum Mobile (4 hands piano duet formed in 2009 with Emilie Carcy), concerts of contemporary music …

His taste for creation led him to dedicate much of his artistic activity to musical writing. As a composer and arranger, he has practiced in various fields (concert pieces, arrangements for various formations ranging from duet to orchestra, stage music, film music, pedagogical pieces, arrangements of songs).

Attracted by the pleasure of transmitting his passion for music, pedagogy constitutes one of his major preoccupations. He has the Diplôme d’Etat (DE) of accompanist and the Certificat d’Aptitude (CA) of piano. He is currently a piano teacher and singer accompanist at the CRR Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole.
